Founder- Sam Ellis
Sam founded Rapid Descent in 2021 after 16 years of Paddling, 13 of which coaching and working in the outdoor industry. The aim is to offer top quality coaching and guiding experiences to everyone.
Whilst holding British Canoeing Coaching and Safety qualifications Sam is also very experienced in PPE safety inspection, risk assessing and operating procedures. Personally he has kayaked in the French Alps, Nepal, Malaysia, Canada and across the UK. A true outdoorsman, Sam lived in the Candian Rockies for 2 years Snowboarding, Skiing, Climbing and ofcourse, Kayaking!
If it isn't Sam coaching or guiding you it will be one of our highly experienced local guides. These are hand selected based off their experience and local knowledge.
Having grown up doing any job to earn money to go kayaking we realise how expensive the sport can be. We don't want the price getting in the way of your experience so please do contact us if our prices our out of your reach- we will see what we can do. For 16-25 year olds we have a young leaders programme.
